Hi Jtlind,Your suggestion of poiletly approaching this individual is a good first step. Your concern is justified especially since he is not flying in his backyard, but instead over the properties of others while using public roads. While he may be an experienced pilot, this is dangerous. Plus his actions reflects badly on our hobby as we face pending regulations from the FAA. Invite him to become a member and fly on your flying site. If he is reluctant, encourage him to work out a partnership with a private property owner who can offer plenty of open land that is free from obstacles. I encourage you to also contact AMA's Flying Site Coordinator Tony Stillman.Tony can be reached anytime at 912-242-2407 or via e-mail at .
Disgusted by Almat Aviation in Coventry I have never been treated in such a disgusting and unprofessional manner after purchasing a 2 hour flying lesson with Almat Aviation.
Spoiler
Upon arrival I was greeted by an instructor who informed me that the company in fact double books customers so that one student can sit in the back of the plane for an hour whilst the other takes their lesson and then vice versa.
After agreeing to this without choice, and following a short briefing I sat in the back of the plane for one whole hour whilst another student took her lesson. We then landed and purported to swap over.
Upon landing a rude, obnoxious and quite frankly, arrogant manager, informed me that I would actually only be allowed 30 minutes of flight time. With customers waiting, I was to "quickly" have my flying lesson as a mistake had been made and in actual fact when you pay a ridiculous amount of money to Almat Aviation for a "2 hour flying lesson" they actually mean 30 minutes.
Never have I been treated with such disregard and belittlement and I hope that upon reading this review, Almat Aviation will place some consideration upon their customer relations. The manager was simply not interested in even reasoning with me as through no fault of my own, his company were behind on schedule.
I strongly recommend that people think twice before booking with such an unprofessional company!
