Electrical Discharge Machine or EDM machine is a type of machine which is used for cutting or removing the desired piece from any metal workpiece. It is a non-traditional manufacturing process. It means that this machine is not applicable for every situation in the metal cutting process but when you do not find desired results from CNC machines or other metal cutting machines, this machine helps a lot. please visit Omron factory automation, The EDM is applicable in every scenario where it is hard to achieve complex shapes and where we are working on very hard materials like titanium.

Now we will discuss the process of the electrical discharge machine and find out how it works. EDM machines use high-frequency electrical discharge from a soft metal tool or an electrode to remove desired pieces of metal. In simple terms, it is a process in which an electrical discharge occurs between the workpiece and electrode. The electrode uses negative charges and therefore a discharge occurs between them which removes the material from the workpiece likewise the melting process. Here you can get earthing and lightning protection To perform this process, both materials should be merged in a dielectric fluid.

This process makes the cutting process cleaner and more precise. But it is a slower process where there are other machines that do the cutting process very faster. Hence this machine is best only for a few situations.
